Tacoma puts day aside for old-fashioned Christmas

Two events taking place in Tacoma this December will allow people to experience what celebrations of Christmas were like in times gone by.

The Fort Nisqually Living History Museum is

hosting a ‘19th Century Christmas’ celebration. A large number of re-enactors in period costume from the 1850s era will be on hand to tell stories, host hands-on crafts activities, and provide holiday refreshments. Guests can also tour the nine public buildings at the museum, including the Granary and the Factors House.

The same day, the W. W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory will be having a ‘Victorian Holiday Celebration’. Guests can visit Santa and have their pictures taken, hear children's stories, and enjoy some Victorian holiday cheer. Photos with Santa Claus cost $15 for a 5x7 picture.

Tacoma Stationery printers often provide items such as Flyers to help advertise these kinds of events in an inexpensive and speedy manner.

The ‘19th Century Christmas’ is taking place on December 6 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and military personnel, $5 for students, and $5 for those between the ages of 5 and 17. To learn more, call 253-591-5339.
