Mexican eatery to come to Tacoma

Burritos California is planning to open a location in Tacoma on S. 38th Street.

Burritos California is based in Seattle and serves Mexican food 24 hours a day. The location in Tacoma is in an old restaurant that spans 1,500 square feet. Improvements planned for the space include new pipes for gas and water, a gravity grease interceptor, and a new ventilation system for the hood.

Such sites often rely on banner printing to inform residents of new establishments and their offerings.

As the name suggests, the eatery is known for its burritos, featuring several varieties for breakfast with bacon, shredded beef, steak, or chorizo, in addition to 200 other offerings. The burritos include carnitas with pico de gallo and guacamole, while the signature burrito includes steak, potatoes, cheese, and pico. Also on the menu are chile relleno inside a burrito, and the Mar y Tierra with both steak and shrimp.

Also on the menu are enchiladas, tacos, plates of chile verde pork and steak ranchero, tortas, and cocktails. Desserts include tres leches (three milks) cake, churros, and ice cream. Burritos California is also planning to have a drive-thru window.

No opening date has been set as yet, but once it does open, it will join several other dining options with late opening hours, including Kko Kko Chicken in Lakewood, Gyro Bites in the West End, and Frisko Freeze.
