Tacoma hosts certification for minority- and women-owned businesses

The Washington State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) is partnering with the Equity in Contracting Program of the city of Tacoma to host an OMWBE Active Certification Class later this month.

The goal of this class is to help businesses that are owned by women, minorities, and individuals who are economically and socially disadvantaged to become OMWBE certified. At the end of the class, attendees should be able to complete and submit their applications form OMWBE certification. Resie Rogers, a certification analyst with OMWBE, will work directly with each attendee.

Those wishing to attend the class need to register for it. The class will be held in a hybrid format but attendance in person is strongly recommended.

It is recommended that those who attend the class start the application process ahead of time and come with questions that may be preventing them from completing the application. Attendees should bring financial statements, a laptop, and the paperwork required for the certification process.

Such classes can benefit with the help of brochure printing, offering professionally designed handouts that dive deeper into the topics covered, highlight key takeaways, and clearly outline the real-world advantages for participating businesses.

The class will take place at the Tacoma Municipal Building on Market Street on Monday November 17 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Anyone who does business in Tacoma is welcome to attend.
