Tacoma hosts job fair for active military and veterans

A job and resource fair will be held in Tacoma later this month as part of National Hire a Vet Day.

Recruiters from over 60 government and private employers will be on hand to meet with the military community. This will be a resource and job fair in person. There is no charge to attend the event, and it is open to families and members who are in all the branches of the military. This includes National Guard, active duty, veteran, and reserves, as well as employees of the Department of Defense.

Both part-time and full-time jobs will be available. Many of the employees are members of YesVets, a program that recognizes employers who hire veterans. Also in attendance there will be community resource organizations that will be available to help attendees improve their interviewing skills and resumes.

Those who are interested in attending this event can register at the door or online in advance. Attendees who register in advance can post their resume and schedule meetings with potential employers.

Poster printing can be used throughout a community to inform military personnel who are looking for a new job about such job fairs and their resources.

The job and resource fair will be held on Thursday July 24 at Mount Tacoma High School on S. 74th Street from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
