New economic development director announced for Tacoma

Tanja Carter has been appointed as the new Director of Community and Economic Development for the city of Tacoma.

Such new positions often call for the need for business card printing services. Carter has a great deal of experience in the international arena as she has lived in three continents and worked in over 60 countries.

Elizabeth Pauli, city manager, emphasized that Carter is proficient in multiple languages and has a global perspective that will be important for the interconnected markets of today. Pauli added that Carter has been the director of Economic Development for Federal Way and has also worked at Auburn and SeaTac where her focus was on economic development among many kinds of industries, including real estate, international manufacturing, and tourism.

Carter expressed her thrill in joining the Community and Economic Development Department of the city of Tacoma. She added that she is looking forward to using her experience to enhance the business landscape of the city, and collaborating with the team on their work.

While at The American University, Carter earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and German. According to a press release, her academic credentials and global experience make her the ideal person to guide the economic aspirations of Tacoma in an economy that is increasingly globalized.

Carter starts her position on Monday, March 24.
