A Restaurant 101 Workshop will be hosted by the Community and Economic Development Department of the city of Tacoma later this month.
Featured at this workshop will be local restaurant owners, who will offer their insights into how to start and grow a beverage and food business or a restaurant. Poster printing is one way to promote such events throughout a community for those who may be interested.
This event is free and is designed to help participants learn more about the complexities of the industry. Among the highlights of the workshop will be a panel discussion of experts in the industry, financial planning talks to help budget capital improvements, and discussions on how to navigate regulations on health compliance, planning, and the environment. There will also be opportunities for networking.
Panelists will include Abe Fox from Wooden City, Hailey Hernandez from Sidepiece Kitchen, and Marcus Lalario, who operates several restaurants in the area. These panelists will share their stories of being restaurant owners, from navigating regulations to creating an enjoyable dining experience.
There will also be staff from the Planning and Development Services, Environmental Services, and Community and Economic Development departments of the city and the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department to answer questions from attendees.
This workshop will take place on Wednesday, August 28 at Edison Square on South Tacoma Way from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
