Farmers and other food producers from in and around Tacoma will see the fruits of their labors featured at an event intended to help make people more aware of where the food they eat comes from.
The Banquet of Bounty is a farm-to-fork gala that will also serve as a fundraiser. The dinner will consist of locally grown foodstuffs, and while those in attendance are enjoying their meal, they will have an opportunity to learn more about area farmers and the Tacoma Farmers’ Market.
There is no set cost to take part, but the organizers hope that people will be inspired to make a donation to help ensure that the market can continue to provide fresh food to the public, support local farmers and small business owners, and bring the community together. Newsletter printing services can be used to create publications that can be distributed throughout the city to let people know when events like this will be taking place, and to give further details about how they can participate.
Volunteers are also being sought to lend a hand with the event.
The Banquet of Bounty is planned for May 19 from 5:30 pm until 9:30 pm. Anyone who would like to register, make a donation, volunteer, or simply find out more can visit the Tacoma Farmers’ Market website.
