The Tacoma Guitar and Drum Festival will take place at the Tacoma Dome and Exhibition Hall in August.
The Festival will comprised of exhibition space and performances. The Exhibition Hall will have acoustically isolated rooms so that drum vendors and exhibitors can demonstrate their products. There will be an easily accessible aisle layout for the guitar exhibitions. Attendees will also be able to trade, buy, and sell used, new, and vintage drums, guitars, percussion gear, pedals and accessories, among many other items.
The Tacoma Dome itself will host the performance area, where there will be a large concert stage for drum and guitar workshops and clinics led by industry legends and experts. There will also be artists performing and holding meet and greet sessions. Print shops in the area can be hired to create materials to highlight such exhibitors, layouts, workshops, and clinics.
One of the artists scheduled so far is Doyle Dukes. Influenced by the rock and roll music of the Beatles and Duane Eddy, as well as the country music of Chet Atkins, Dukes has developed his own recognizable, distinct sound based on soul and sincerity.
The Tacoma Guitar and Drum Festival will be on Saturday, August 15 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, continuing on Sunday, August 16 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
