The Living Taproom in the Brewery Blocks Tacoma development is now open. This is a self-serve taproom that enables guests to pour their own beers.
The Living Taproom covers close to 3,000 square feet and is above Camp Colvos and the Dancing Goats on C Street. The owners are Andria and Colin Wunder, husband and wife, who designed a space where people are comfortable and can relax as they try one of their 34 taps.
Such innovative concepts in drinking and dining are often promoted throughout a city with poster printing.
The space will be like a cozy living room gathering space. The wall taps will be the centerpiece of the space and there will be a table for 10 people – the owners built this themselves from a tree from where Andria grew up.
There will be a rotating selection of wine, beer, cider, nitro-coffee, and soda on tap. Customers will be provided with radio-frequency identification (RFID) bracelets that control and track what each customer pours using a touchscreen so that the actual number of ounces served can be monitored. In regular mode, the screens above each tap will provide information about alcohol by volume (ABV) to monitor guests’ consumption, beverage labels, tasting notes, and ratings of International Bitterness Units (IBU).
The Living Taproom will be open six days a week for those 21 years of age and older and is pet friendly.
