Construction will soon begin on the renovation of the lower level of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in the Bryant area of the Hilltop neighborhood in Tacoma to create a home for the new Bryant Neighborhood Center.
Keith Blocker, member of the Tacoma City Council, expressed his excitement about the project, saying that more spaces are needed in Tacoma where there are resources that can improve the quality of life, and people can connect with each other in the community. The Bryant Neighborhood Center will be such a hub for the community that will have a positive impact for many, many years.
The Bryant Neighborhood Center will be opened every day once it is completed. Flexible spaces for community support and educational programs will be in the center so that confidential meetings, small group conversations as well as large group gatherings can be held. The gym will be renovated for recreational use and there will be a kitchen for cooking meals for the community. There will be an entrance that will be ADA-compliant to make it accessible to everyone.
There will be programs for both families and young people and it will the focal point for city resources. Brochure printing can be used to provide more information about such programs and resources.
There will be a celebratory groundbreaking event at 4:00 pm this Thursday, June 6 to which the community is invited.
