Fairgrounds to feature special event of the season

Holiday Magic will be taking place at the Washington State Fair fairgrounds in Puyallup beginning next month. Residents of Tacoma will not want to miss this festive event.

Featured at the fairgrounds will be holiday lights and fun displays, including Holiday Hounds and the playful penguins from the Arctic. Stacy Van Horne, a spokesperson from the fair, said that the lights are expected to be “breathtaking.”

Also at the fairgrounds will be Candy Cane Lane, offering a hot cocoa bar and hot beverages with festive toppings. There will also be hot apple cider, expresso, coffee, and other warm delights. Food at the fairgrounds will feature funnel cakes, elephant ears, and its famous scones, along with more savory items such as burgers, turkey legs, pizza, and Caesar salad.

Participants in each carload can engage in a scratch ticket and scavenger hunt game to find hidden icons as they travel through the light display. Prizes include two weekday admission tickets for the spring fair in 2021, and two holiday ducks. Holiday-themed merchandise is also for sale and such items often feature graphic design or a logo created especially for such an event.

Holiday Magic opens on Friday, December 4, and runs through Sunday, January 3. Hours are from 5:00 to 10:00 pm on weekends and select days during the month.
