Breakfast restaurant to open near Tacoma

A lease with The Original Pancake House has been signed by the investors of the Harvester Restaurant in Gig Harbor.

The Original Pancake House is a family-owned chain with seven locations in Washington state. Residents of nearby Tacoma may want to try out this eatery once it opens.

The restaurant is on Soundview Drive. Carl Swanes, an attorney who created the investor group, Gig Harbor LLC to buy the restaurant, said that work is currently underway on renovating the building. The group has signed a lease for 10 years and is planning to maintain the restaurant’s breakfast-only tradition with many of the food items made from scratch.

The eatery has a reputation for its comfort food in the American style, serving such items as beer-battered shrimp, country-fried steak, and six varieties of stacked hamburgers. Breakfast items have included corned beef hash, eggs Benedict, stuffed hash browns, and Tex-Mex omelets. Some new items planned for the menu will be Hawaiian pancakes, Georgia pecan pancakes, and toasted coconut pancakes. Such new eateries might want to hire local Print shops to create Flyers and other materials to generate interest in trying out such new items.

BTE Management Co. will be managing the restaurant. The principals of the company are Ryan Medford and Blake Williams, who said they were looking for a family breakfast place and this seemed like an ideal fit.
