An artist with an impressive career and a fan base described as being as fervent as the Beatles’ is coming to San Diego.
Louis Tomlinson is a native of Doncaster, England, and is a singer/songwriter. In 2010, he auditioned for the seventh series of “The X Factor” as a solo artist but was rejected before the final round. However, he had impressed the judges who put him together with four other singers, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan, to form the boy band “One Direction.” The impromptu group became one of the best-selling in music.
The group took a hiatus in 2016, and Tomlinson continued his career as a soloist. In December 2016, he released his debut single, “Just Hold On.” It climbed to the second spot on the Singles Chart in the UK and was also certified platinum in that country.
Tomlinson released his first studio album as a solo artist, “Walls,” in January 2020. It debuted in the UK and No. 4, and in the US at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart. His next studio album, “Faith in the Future,” appeared in 2022 in the No. 1 spot in the UK and the No. 5 spot in the US, and won praise for his lyricism.
Louis Tomlinson will be at the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park on June 10. Using poster printing, organizers can call attention to performances like this.
