Award-winning artist to perform in San Diego

An acclaimed singer-songwriter from Canada will perform in San Diego soon.

Jessie Reyez was born in Toronto and began her career in 2014 when she released “Living in the Sky,” a joint single with King Louie. In 2015, she dropped “It Hurts (Selena),” her second single, and followed it with another single, “Shutter Island,” in 2017. She then embarked on a European tour.

Her 2017 single “Figures,” was her first major success, climbing to No. 58 on the Canadian Hot 100, receiving triple platinum certification by Music Canada, and platinum from the RIAA in the US.

She released “Kiddo,” her debut EP, in 2017, which earned her a Breakthrough Artist award at the 2018 Juno Awards. Her second EP, 2019’s “Being Human in Public,” won R&B Soul Recording of the Year at the Junos that year. It was also nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at 2020’s Grammy Awards.

She received a nomination for Artist of the Year at the 2020 Juno Awards, and that year released “Before Love Came to Kill Us,” her debut album, which rose to No. 13 on the US Billboard 200.

A review of a recent show says:

“[She pulls] . . . the audience into her whirlwind of kinetic energy until it’s impossible not to be completely caught up in the thrill of the moment.”

Jessie Reyez will be at SOMA – Mainstage on Saturday, November 15. Events like this can benefit if organizers use poster printing to create advertisements for the show.
