Comedian/actress Chelsea coming to San Diego

A comedian and actress who does not step away from controversy is coming to San Diego.

Chelsea Handler is a native of Livingston, New Jersey, who is probably best known for her work as a television host of her own shows. From 2007 to 2014, she hosted “Chelsea Lately,” a talk show, broadcast on the E! network. She moved to Netflix to host “Chelsea,” also a talk show, which ran from 2016 to 2017.

Handler got her start in show business when she left home to live with her aunt in Bel Air, California, working as a waitress as she tried to break into acting. She came to stand-up comedy via an unusual route. She was in a class of those who had been arrested for a DUI and told them the story of her arrest. They thought it was funny, and she was set on a new path.

Handler has also produced numerous shows and is the author of several New York Times best-selling Books. A review of a live performance says:

“. . . to say it was one the best stand-up shows I have ever seen would be a drastic understatement.”

Time Magazine named Handler to its annual “100 Most Influential People in the World” list in 2012. She will be at the San Diego Civic Theatre on November 29. Organizers of performances like this will frequently contact a printer who will use poster printing to create accurate advertising for the event.
