Shredding for safety in Canonsburg

Keeping personal information private is a concern for many people, especially when it comes to disposing of material. Fortunately, Canonsburg has solved the problem.

Canonsburg is holding a Free Shred-It Event, which will give residents a chance to declutter their homes and dispose of sensitive materials safely. However, the shredding is limited to five file boxes in total per person. In addition, people are asked to remove binder clips, but window envelopes, stapes, and paperclips can be shredded without any problem. Organizers also note that if there is space in the truck, they will be happy to keep shredding during the final hour of the event.

People coming to shred documents in the Pittsburgh area are asked for donations of either money or new school supplies. The donations will go to The Education Partnership, which provides school supplies to underserved teachers and students in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Since 2011, when the organization complete its pilot program, it has served over 374,770 students in 191 schools, and distributed over $50,000,000 worth of resources.

The upcoming Shred-It Event is set for Saturday, May 11, from 11.00 am until 2.00 pm. The location is the Guardian Storage facility at 2670 Washington Road. Organizers of events like this will often use banner printing to create clear signage directing people to appropriate locations at the event.
