Feast planned in Canonsburg

A restaurant in Canonsburg will be hosting a cooking class followed by a feast.

The Arlecchino Hands-On Gnocchi Class & Four-Course Feast will be held at Arlecchino Ristorante. As the title implies, class participants will be taught how to make gnocchi from scratch, and then everyone will enjoy a four-course meal.

The dinner is a celebration of the city of Modena, the birthplace of potato gnocchi. The event begins with a glass of Prosecco, a delicious sparkling wine, while participants learn about the history of gnocchi and how it is rooted in the cuisine of Modena. After learning about the pasta, people will learn how to make it.

An expert will take it slowly, so everyone learns each step of the process in detail. There will be no shortcuts, just authentic Italian cooking from the Modena region.

After the class is over, participants will sit down together to share their gnocchi, which will be paired with wines specifically selected to complement each course. In addition to the gnocchi, the menu includes prosciutto di Modena, gnocchi fritto, and Pepperonata al Balsamico as the first course; the second course is the gnocchi along with a pear salad; the third is braised beef or braised veal with polenta; dessert choices end the meal.

The event is scheduled for January 18 at 3.00 pm. Events like this benefit when organizers work with flyer printing to create elegant Menus. Participants will take home an apron and their gnocchi board.
