Classic Christmas returns to Canonsburg

A popular Christmas celebration is set to take place once again in Canonsburg.

Canonsburg has been described by VIsitPA.com as a “Hallmark movie-esque” community, one of the most beautiful in the state. The charm of the borough makes it ideal for the upcoming Canonsburg’s Old Fashioned Christmas, which began as a simple tree lighting, and now draws more than 25,000 visitors, making it one of the most popular holiday events in the area.

The festival includes a Christmas Market, a food court, children’s activities, a parade and the tree lighting. More than 60 vendors are expected to take part in the Christmas market, where they will offer handmade jewelry and clothes, seasonal items, home decor, treats, drinks, and more.

The food court will give visitors a chance to sample foods from throughout the world, finding new favorites.

Younger visitors haven’t been forgotten. Activities planned for children include face painting, crafts, a chance to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, games, a chance to interact with Christmas characters, a model railroad display, and more.

The tree lighting is a very special part of the event, and will be handled by Santa Claus himself, along with his friends.

Canonsburg’s Old Fashioned Christmas takes place throughout the downtown area, where shops and streets display festive lights. The celebration is scheduled for December 5 and 6. Festive events like this can receive a boost when organizers use poster printing to create colorful advertising for them.
