Say prost and party in Canonsburg
Canonsburg will be the site of a huge party soon.
The Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest will take place on Pike Street in Canonsburg, giving everyone a chance to have fun at one of the most iconic celebrations in the world. Although details are still being finalized, organizers have revealed that the festival will include carnival games and rides, a children’s craft area, a food court that will be serving both American and German food, and (of course) a wide variety of beers.
There will be two stages for live performances where musicians will play both current pop music, and traditional German music. New this year is a race called the “Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk.” The race honors the memory of Stephen Siller, a firefighter in New York City who was on his way to play golf when the World Trade Center was attacked. He canceled his outing and returned to the city where he ultimately lost his life.
The Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest in Canonsburg has been designated one of the country’s Top Ten Oktoberfest Celebrations, and it is scheduled for September 15 from 4.00 pm until 11.00pm; September 16 from 11.00 am until 11.00 pm, with the 5K at 8.00 am; and September 17 from 11.00 am until 4.00 pm. Everyone is encouraged to wipe down their beer steins and lederhosen and come to the party. Outdoor events like this can be enhanced if organizers use banner printing to create decorations and course markers.
