Rotary announces charity trivia contest

Canonsburg residents will be pleased to know that it is time once again for the Annual Charity Trivia Contest held by the Washington Rotary Club, in which teams compete to win prize money for their selected charities.

The contest is made up of 50 questions, divided into 10 categories, each of which will have five questions. The teams all play at the same time and between rounds a raffle auction and door prize drawing will take place. Randomly, bonus rounds will be held as well.

An entry fee of $35 must be paid for each team member; teams must have at least four members and no more than eight. Included in the entry fee are snacks and beverages. The cost per spectator is also $35; however, limited space is available.

For some trivia contests, teams are sponsored by a local business and may distribute promotional products to other teams and spectators.

To take part in the Rotary’s Charity Trivia, teams need to submit one check for their entire team’s entry fee with the team name in the memo line. Checks should be payable to “Washington Rotary Club”.

The Charity Trivia Contest will be held at the South Franklin Fire Hall on March 8, at 7 pm. The Rotary will donate to the winning team’s charity of choice, $1,250; the charity of the second-place team will receive $750 and the third place's charity will get $500. The deadline for registration is February 27.
