Oktoberfest pours ahead in Canonsburg
One of the biggest German festivals in the country is still set to take place this year in Canonsburg, according to event officials.
The Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest is a three-day party that takes place every September, turning downtown Canonsburg into a world of pretzels, bratwurst, and beer.
This is the 22nd year for the festival, which has become one of the most popular Oktoberfest events in Pennsylvania, and is the sixth largest Oktoberfest in the United States.
Two stages are built in different downtown locations. One stage is for bands and entertainers playing traditional German music, while the other features rock and country bands and other modern music.
German and American food is served, and a variety of German beers are on tap. There are rides and games for children, as well as a market concourse with hundreds of vendors.
According to the event’s Facebook site, there is still space for more vendors. Vendors at events such as this one can use print shops to create menus, brochures, and business cards to distribute to patrons.
This is one of two major events put on by the Greater Canonsburg Chamber of Commerce. Canonsburg’s Old Fashioned Christmas is set to take place in early December, which transforms downtown into a winter wonderland.
