What's Happening in Canonsburg, PA…

Locals enjoy spooky events

McMurray residents can visit Peterswood Park for two Halloween themed activities next month.

First, older individuals can work up the courage to go on the Haunted Trail XVI, the CSI version. On the trail, guests can expect to see gory crime scenes and try to solve the case. Storytellers will lead groups along the path and describe the scenes. Along the way, visitors will encounter ghosts, demons, and other scary creatures.

Locals with kids under eight may want to check out the 'not-so-scary' Haunted Trail. This version will feature milder crime scenes and actors will be on the trail to entertain everyone.

Admission to both activities is $5. To inform the community about these Halloween events, a postcard printing service was likely used, since direct mailers are an inexpensive way to promote an event.

Storyteller and scene actor volunteers are needed to help make the event happen. On September 30, there will be a dress rehearsal at the Peters Township Community Recreation Center.

The Original Haunted Trail will take place on October 2 and October 3 from 7:30 pm until 10:00 pm. The less scary version will be open on October 3 from 6:30 pm until 7:15 pm.

For more information, or to volunteer, individuals can call the parks and rec office at (724)-942-5000.

Peterswood Park is located on 750 Bebout Road.
