What's Happening in Canonsburg, PA…

Golfing swings in to Canonsburg

A special event is returning to Canonsburg for hours of fun next month.

The Tri Community South EMS Golf Outing is upcoming, promising enjoyment for everyone, as they will spend almost an entire day on the golf course.

Tri Community South EMS is a regional ambulance service that started in 1977 to provide improved medical care to Upper St. Clair, South Park, and Bethel Park. The idea arose several years earlier when Dr. Clara Ersoz recognized a need for improved local prehospital care and transportation. The three communities contracted three private ambulances to provide care on a rotating basis, until finally settling on one company.

However, the arrangement, according to the Tri Community South EMS website, proved to be “less than optimal.” After studying the issue, the municipalities decided the best way to provide compliance with agreed-upon standards was to have the involved communities manage, operate, and own the ambulance service themselves. The result was the Tri-Community South EMS organization, and it celebrates with an outing each year. Organizers of events like this could use brochure printing to create informative pamphlets about the meaning behind the celebration.

The venue is the Lindenwood Golf Club in Canonsburg, and the ticket includes the green fees and a golf cart, balls for the practice range, and refreshments, plus breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The date is May 25, with the registration, warm-up and breakfast taking place from 8:00 am until 9:45 am, the tournament beginning at 10:00 am with a shotgun start, and prizes being presented at 3:00 pm during the dinner.
