Germany celebrated in Washington County next month
The 17th annual Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest is taking place in Canonsburg for three days in September. It is presented by the Greater Canonsburg Chamber of Commerce.
The event is set to feature a variety of German beers, traditional foods like bratwurst, and musical entertainment. Among the acts that will be performing at this year's festival on two entertainment stages are Alpen Schuhplattler, Matt Barranti and Bill Ali, the Augsburg Band, and Sugarcane. Froggy will also be making a special guest appearance.
There will be amusement rides and games for children of all ages; arts and crafts artisans will be selling their handmade and unique works of art, and local business vendors will sell a variety of merchandise and prepackaged foods, with much of it German-related.
Oktoberfest celebrations are held around the world each fall and are particularly popular in the Pennsylvania area, so no doubt people from nearby communities such as McMurray will want to take in at least one day of the festivities. Local stationery printers may be asked to provide items like flyers, posters, and brochures to help advertise the festival in the area.
The Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest will be held on Pike Street in Canonsburg from September 18 to 20. Admission is free and all-day amusement ride passes are available for purchase. To learn more about this annual event, call 724-745-1812.
