Fundraising race approaches in Canonsburg
A race is coming up in Canonsburg that should strike a chord with participants throughout the community.
The Soles for Songs 5K is a fundraiser to help the South Hills Children’s Choir. The racecourse starts and ends in the same place—the Quail Acres Pavilion in Canonsburg’s North Strabane Park. Participants of all skill levels are invited to take part in the event.
The South Hills Children’s Choir (SHCC) seeks to enrich children’s lives by including members from diverse backgrounds. The choir believes in the ideals of truth, goodness, beauty, and musical excellence. The choir is an educational and performing arts program for young people that helps them develop an understanding of music, as well as their own performing skills. The focus is on vocal work, and the SHCC hopes its members will go on to enjoy music for their entire lives.
The course features gentle hills that are not too challenging. It leads through the park, and then goes along Linden Road in an out-and-back route. Banner printing is an excellent method to use to create markers for events like this.
The Soles for Songs 5K is scheduled for March 26, starting at 9:00 am. Anyone who registers before this Saturday, February 26 will receive a race T-shirt, guaranteed. Before March 12, the registration fee is $25, and after that date, it goes to $35. All the money raised will go to support the choir.
