Chance to celebrate Independence Day with the family
The 52nd annual Canonsburg Fourth of July Celebration has something to offer everyone in the family.
The day will begin with the 30th annual ‘Whiskey Rebellion’ 5K run/walk. It will start and end at Canon McMillan Memorial Stadium. Registration fees are $20 for runners and $15 for walkers. There will be raffles, food, and prizes after the race ends.
After that, a parade will travel through the streets of the town. This year's theme is ‘Celebrating the American Dream’. Local organizations and businesses will have the opportunity to show off their love of their country with floats and marching groups.
Later on in the day, a family festival will feature rock climbing, face painting, balloon animals, and a swim party. The public can also take part in spin and sand art activities. There will also be a DJ, games, prizes, and music from artists such as SNPJ Button Box and the Tom Terling Band. A fireworks display will take place at 9:30 pm, as is customary.
Visitors from all over the area, including nearby McMurray, will likely want to attend this Independence Day event. Posters are available detailing the day's events, and were likely created and printed with help from local printing companies.
The Canonsburg Fourth of July Celebration will take place beginning at 7:30 am. To find out more about the day's events, call 724-941-8321.
