Canonsburg Easter Walk promotes health and fitness
Those who are putting off their New Year's waking/running resolutions should don their bunny ears for the Canonsburg 5K Bunny Run and Family Easter Walk.
The walk is organized by the Greater Canonsburg Chamber of Commerce (GCCC). This is the second year for the event. Participants follow a route from the starting line at Canonsburg Hospital to the finish line at Sarris Candies, 511 Adams Ave.
The Easter walk is designed to encourage health and fitness among Canonsburg residents and educate the public on preventative diseases. The GCCC is partnering with several health-related businesses which will be part of the event.
For example, instructors from Barre3, a health and fitness club in Southpointe, will be on hand at the starting line to help participants with a 10-minute warm up and stretch. At the finish line, Salud Express Juicery and Wellness Bar will provide smoothies and Southpointe Massage Therapy will be offering massages for the walkers and runners.
The GCCC is asking its members to donate gift baskets to be raffled off. They can hold product samples, treats or discount coupons. Coupons, brochures and business cards for gift baskets at events such as these can be printed professionally at local print shops.
The 5K Bunny Run & Family Easter Walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 18 at 8:00 am at the Canonsburg Hospital, 100 Medical Blvd. The race begins at 8:30 am. Participants are asked to arrive at 7:00 am. There will be transportation from the finish line back to Canonsburg Hospital for people who leave their vehicles at the hospital.
