Business networking breakfast goes to the phones
The Southpointe Chamber of Commerce's weekly networking breakfasts are on hold for now, but it is hoped the business owners of Canonsburg and the surrounding area will be able to get together again soon.
The move is in response to the global coronavirus pandemic, as health officials have advised against any group or public gatherings.
As an alternative, the Chamber has started a weekly conference call, where business owners can call in and discuss the issues surrounding the coronavirus. The calls are free to join, and the chamber's Executive Director, Don Hodor, leads the discussion.
It is an important time for the local business community to be talking and communicating, due to the challenges the virus is creating. Business owners who want to discuss issues such as what to do with employees, or available aid or government financial help, should be calling in.
The Southpointe Chamber regularly hosts a Thursday morning breakfast, and invites Chamber members and nonmembers to visit the office and enjoy free coffee and donuts, sharing questions or concerns with the Executive Director and each other as they do so. It remains to be seen when these breakfasts will resume, but once they do, businesses owners should have their business cards on hand to share.
Calls take place Thursday morning at 8:30 am. Phone (724) 873-7777, hit #, and enter the password 1988. When the breakfasts resume, they will also be held at 8:30 am. The Southpointe Chamber of Commerce's office is located at 135 Technology Drive in Canonsburg.
