For the second year, the Arc of Washington County is hosting its Arts Festival, an event celebrating the talent of artists of diverse ability. The event is a showcase for all Forms of creativity, uplifts everyone, and unites the community through music and art.
The inspiring event includes family-friendly activities, interactive workshops, live performances, food from local vendors, and visual arts of all kinds. There is still time for artists to share their creations with the public, and encourage artists working with painting, digital art, sculpture, drawing, mixed media, performance art, and music to register and take part in the fun.
People coming to the festival can expect to find an artist market of curated visual works, movement and music performances, art-making stations where everyone can enjoy hands-on projects, community booths run by local organizations, and sensory-friendly spaces for people who need a quiet space to relax and recharge.
The Arc’s mission is to serve people with mental health challenges, and developmental and intellectual disabilities, no matter what their age. The Arc helps them succeed in their ambitions, and aids them as they learn to develop meaningful relationships at work, home, and in the community.
The festival is open to the public, free, and will take place at the Jefferson Street Parking Lot on August 9, from 12.00 pm until 4.00 pm. The deadline to register as an artist is July 15. Events like this can benefit when organizers use poster printing methods to create advertising.
