Area raises fanfare for second year of brass
The 2nd annual Pittonkatonk Brass Music BBQ and Community Festival is taking place this May.
Prior to the event, organizers will be holding a three-day educational workshop with the What Cheer? Brigade, as well as the University Prep Junior and Senior High Marching Bands.
The event itself is presenting a number of brass and marching bands in performance. Among those confirmed to be attending this year's festival are the What Cheer? Brigade, the May Day Marching Band, Slide Worldwide, the Black Bear Combo, Timbelza, and high school marching bands. After, there will be a community barbecue and all guests are asked to bring a dish to share.
This is a free event, but donations are appreciated to help pay for the event and to ensure that it happens next year.
Fans of brass music from all over the area, including those from nearby McMurray, will no doubt be interested in knowing about this event. To spread the word, local printing companies may provide posters and flyers that can be displayed around the community.
The Pittonkatonk Brass Music BBQ and Community Festival will take place at the Vietnam Veterans Pavilion in Schenley Park on May 2 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. To get more information about this event, to become a sponsor or to learn about Pittonkatonk Brass Music, call 412-251-6058.
