An old-fashioned Christmas in Canonsburg
Canonsburg recently announced plans for its Christmas celebration, Canonsburg’s Old-Fashioned Christmas.
VisitPA.com has listed Canonsburg as one of the most “Hallmark movie-esque” communities in the state, adding its Christmas celebration has become one of the favorite destinations in the area.
The two-day celebration comprises many different activities and opportunities for family fun. The event is still in the planning stages so more options will be added, and some times have yet to be scheduled, but the outline is in place. Proceedings get started on Friday with the community tree lighting, to be held at the Canonsburg Borough Building at 6:00 pm. Saturday brings the Christmas Parade, also at 6:00 pm.
The rest of the events will be available both days. These include a display of miniature trains in the City Mission Thrift Store window, a Children’s Skating Rink at Clearview Federal Credit Union, North Pole photos with Santa at the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, Christmas markets, appearances by the Grinch, opportunities for family photos with Santa’s sled and the town’s red truck, food trucks, a gingerbread house competition, a Christmas house contest, and live entertainment during the entire event.
Old Fashioned Christmas is scheduled for Friday, December 2, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Saturday, December 3, from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm. When celebrations like this are planned, organizers can use flyer printing to create handouts with a schedule of events.
