A first for Canonsburg next month
For the first time, an art festival is planned for Canonsburg.
The Arc will be the host of the initial Arts Festival, which will be an indoor and outdoor event. Art vendors will be set up outside, while an indoor art studio will provide entire families with a chance to enjoy interactive arts and crafts. Local artists will be performing live music to add to the fun, and a portion of the parking lot of the Sarris Library will be turned into a creative station for children.
Local artists including vocalists, dancers, glass artists, mosaic artists, sculptors, and painters will be attending, and there is still room for more talented people to join in the event. Additional vendors are also welcome to apply.
Maria DeSimone Prascak of Maria's Ideas Art is sponsoring the event. Prascak hopes that the festival will inspire the community to come together and celebrate its talent and diversity. Prascak is a professional artist who has designed and painted original murals, personalized gifts, and custom artworks in the Pittsburgh area for over four decades.
The Art Festival is scheduled for August 17, from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm, at Chicco’s, 111 West Pike Street. When events like this are scheduled and include an outdoor component, organizers will often use banner printing to create festive decorations that will stand up to inclement weather.
