24th annual festival will celebrate Independence Day
The 24th annual McSummerFest is taking place for seven days next month in nearby McDonald. It is presented by the McDonald Volunteer Fire Department.
The festival will have lots of activities that should appeal to everyone in the family. There will be a one-day break in this event to make way for a special Community Day celebration on July 3.
There will be plenty of carnival rides, games and food to purchase. It will be a one price ride night every night from 6:00 – 11:00 PM. There will be a musical guest performing every night; some of those performing are No Bad JuJu, The Hillbilly Way, Functional Chaos, the Justin Fabus Band and the Washington Jazz Festival.
Many community organizations have sponsored this event and most likely will have booths providing information to the public. There will also be a fireworks display to end the night on July 5.
If those community groups are providing information many of them will no doubt work with local stationery printers to create printed materials such as brochures. The festival will likely attract people from all over the area including McMurray.
The McSummerFest will be held at Heritage Park in McDonald on July 2 and from July 4 to 9. Admission is free of charge. To learn more about all activities, call 724-926-9190.
