Yonkers restaurants participating in Restaurant Week

Foodies in Yonkers have an annual event to look forward to. During the upcoming Restaurant Week, area eateries will offer specials on lunch and dinner.

This year, more than 200 restaurants have signed on to participate in Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. The restaurants are located across the Hudson Valley. Westchester has 112 participating restaurants. There are 29 restaurants in Dutchess taking part, 23 in Rockland, and a handful in Yonkers. Participating restaurants can hang up Flyers to let their regular diners know about the event.

Restaurant Week is something of a misnomer, as the event actually runs for two weeks. This year's event starts on November 1 and runs through November 13. During it, a three-course prix-fixe lunch will cost $20.95, while a three-course, prix-fixe dinner will run at $29.95. The specials do not include drinks, tax, or tips. As a bonus, many of the restaurants try to use local ingredients in the dishes they serve during Restaurant Week.

One participating Yonkers restaurant is Angelo's Family Style Italian. It will serve both lunch and dinner during the event. The restaurant is open Sunday through Saturday.

Part of the goal of Restaurant Week is to celebrate the "diversity of restaurants in the Hudson Valley", as Janet Crawshaw, the event's founder, told the Daily Voice. Now in its 10th year, the event helps support local restaurants and the farms, wineries, and breweries that supply them.
