The Free Summer Kickoff Riverfront Festival is scheduled to take place in Yonkers this June.
Hosted by the Yonkers Paddling & Rowing Club, the event will feature activities such as net fishing, arts and crafts, kayaking, free food, music, raffle prizes, and tabling from local community groups. The festival also includes rides on a peace canoe, seining for fish, and creating earth art.
The Yonkers Paddling & Rowing Club is a non-profit organization focused on promoting environmental awareness through paddling and kayaking activities on the Hudson River. The festival aims to celebrate the Hudson River ecosystem through kayaking while encouraging families to engage with local environmental initiatives.
A puppet parade is also organized by the Riverkeeper Fish Migration Celebration, which will also be part of the festival, alongside a flotilla of fish-themed boats. Flyer printing is commonly used to support environmental programs and community outreach programs such as this.
Admission for the event is free, and participants can reserve a spot online through Eventbrite. More information about the event as well the Yonkers Paddling & Rowing Club is available at yprc.org.
The event will take place at Habirshaw Park on the Hudson at 35 Alexander St. Yonkers, NY on Saturday, June 20, from 11 am to 4 pm. Food service begins at 12:30 pm, followed by free public kayaking and canoe rides from 12:45 pm to 2 pm.
