Garden tour showcases Yonkers natural beauty

A garden tour is coming up in Yonkers this October, with Untermyer Gardens preparing to open its gates to those with a love for plants, flowers, trees, and other greenery.

The President’s Tour 2026 will be led by Stephen F. Byrns, the Untermyer Garden Conservancy’s founder. The tour will give attendees new insights on the gardens and their history. It is expected to run approximately 90 minutes, with Byrns sharing his thoughts, visions, and experiences with guests.

The tour is sure to be a unique experience, as Byrns has played a large role in bringing the gardens up to their current state. It will double as an opportunity to learn more about Untermyer Garden Conservancy’s history and its connections to Yonkers. Printing services can add to tours like this by providing educational materials that share more information and complement the information shared by the guide.

Attendees will travel the 136 steps of the Vista, leading them to the park’s Garden of Love. Sturdy shoes are recommended because of the somewhat uneven terrain along the tour’s path. Strollers are not recommended. The tour will be outdoors, so visitors should dress for the weather.

Untermyer Gardens, located on North Broadway in Yonkers, will welcome tour ticketholders at 11:00 am on Sunday, October 18. Tickets can be reserved online, starting at $27 per person.
