Yonkers residents and visitors will have the chance to witness the community’s official start of the holiday season this November when the town’s Christmas tree gets lit.
The Tree-Lighting Celebration has announced the official date on the events calendar in Yonkers, giving families and other interested individuals advance notice to fit the experience into their plans. Attendees will get to watch as the 40-foot tree’s electric lights are turned on for the first time since last year.
Families are welcome and encouraged to attend for the chance to meet Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus for hugs, handing over Christmas lists, and photo opportunities. Print shops are a fabulous resource for families after memorable events like this, providing high-quality printed photos they can send to extended family and friends to send holiday greetings and well wishes.
Rumors are surrounding the event that The Grinch may also be in attendance. Other highlights include an electric train ride around the host site, food trucks and local food vendors, music from a live DJ, and strolling holiday characters. A pop-up skating rink will also open, providing a suitable synthetic material for beginner skaters to learn and have fun.
The host site for the community celebration will be 8000 Mall Walk in Yonkers. The lighting ceremony starts at 6:30pm on Friday, November 13th. Admission is free and open to all interested individuals.Get a Free Quote for Print
