Music festival to rock St. Paul

The St. Paul riverbanks will play host to major musical artists this July as the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival will take place for the first time.

The festival will feature three days of music across multiple stages, with no overlapping sets so visitors can hear every band. Friday will feature modern hitmakers Hozier and Alabama Shakes as well as Train, Sheryl Crow, and indie favorite Father John Misty. Saturday’s concert will feature some of the biggest rock bands of the 2000s including Fall Out Boy, Weezer, Motion City Soundtrack, and Silversun Pickups. The festival will conclude with ‘90s-style alternative rock including Green Day, Sublime, 311, Garbage, and Semisonic. All in all, the festival will feature 20 different artists across various musical genres and eras.

The performances will take place on Harriet Island on the Mississippi River, close to downtown St. Paul. The festival grounds will include a bar, food vendors, lockers and an accessible viewing area for visitors with disabilities. There will also be premium seating areas and food vendors for VIP ticket purchasers. Music festivals like this have become a major part of the concert industry, often using promotional tools like radio advertising and poster printing to help attract local music lovers.

The festival will take place at Harriet Island Regional Park in St. Paul from July 18 to 20.
