A special edition of the Train Days festival will be taking place in St. Paul this June, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Union Depot station.
The free festival will include super-sized model train displays, allowing rail lovers young and old to see the kinds of trains that passed through the station during different eras. Visitors can even step aboard historical trains and get a look up close. There will also be a kids’ activity zone including a bounce house, crafts, sidewalk drawing and a dance party. The Union Depot site will also be open for guided tours, including the Historic Stair Museum.
New for this year, Train Days will also include a one-day music festival, with local artists performing on the side of the tracks. Audience members can bring lawn chairs or blankets to spread out. There will be food trucks and other vendors on site for refreshments.
The Train Days event will also include a rail-themed marketplace of local businesses, including model train sellers and other related vendors. Featured exhibitors include Choo Choo Bob’s Train Store, Lowertown Bike Shop and Coffee, and Story Line Books. Vendors at festivals like this often offer special deals or Promotional Products to help attract new customers.
The 2026 edition of Train Days will take place on June 6 and 7 at Union Depot in Saint Paul.
