The event is hosted by the St. Paul Saints and features runs of various distances. Adults can tackle the full five-kilometer path by running, walking, or rolling, while children can run across the outfield through four activity stations as part of the Little Chippers Home Run Hustle for free. Fans and supporters can also choose the “0K” option to cheer on their friends or family while still receiving commemorative items.
All runners, walkers, and supporters will also receive a ticket to the Saints game following the run. The Twins’ AAA affiliate will be taking on the Buffalo Bisons following the run. Participation also comes with a themed jersey and medal regardless of finish. Runs and other athletic event use printing services to create these keepsakes.
The race path will go over the Mississippi River and turn around before arriving on the field. Advertising for the event states that the Double Play run is:
“…where movement meets summer fun. Where sneakers hit the pavement and cheers echo off the stadium walls. You can run. You can walk. You can cheer! Bring the kids, your friends, or your favorite fan for an event that feels like summer.”
The 2026 Double Play 5K run will take place on Wednesday, July 1, beginning at Mears Park and ending at CHS Field in St. Paul.
