The West Side area of St. Paul will be celebrating Mexican American tradition this May with its weekend-long Cinco de Mayo festival.
The weekend’s centrepiece will be an annual parade featuring floats, dancers, and community groups representing St. Paul’s diverse culture. The parade typically attracts thousands of spectators and includes the participation of community organizations like Los Bomberos Latin Outreach Society and the Saint Paul Firefighters Local 21 as sponsors and exhibitors.
The parade will conclude at a festival area with live musical entertainment across two stages. There will be 40 food vendors offering Mexican classics as well as tastes from around the world, and 80 non-food vendors including artists and community organizations. The area will also feature a Kids Zone with games and activities aimed at a family audience.
The festivities will include a two-day car show where enthusiasts can show off their vintage or customized automobiles. The first day will take place on Harriet Island before the cars join the main festival on Saturday. Cultural festivals like this often represent community heritage and recognize sponsors through signage and banner printing. This celebration is hosted by the West Side Fiestas organization with support from local volunteers.
The 2026 West Side Cinco de Mayo will take place from May 1 to 2 in St. Paul, with the festival hosted at El Burrito Mercado.
