The Frank Bland Regional Training Center in San Bernardino will be teaching officers about traffic collision investigations next month.
Traffic Collision Investigation is an intermediate course where those who are part of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD) can learn how to analyze accidents with mathematics and physics. Participants will also be taught how to investigate skid marks and use physical evidence. Other topics covered during the course include tire mark identification, human factors in collisions, and hit-and-runs. All students are expected to have taken the Basic Traffic Collision Investigation class.
The Frank Bland Regional Training Center is a facility that was founded in 1971 to provide law enforcement officers with essential education. The center has trained thousands of officers since it opened. There are many facilities for students to use at the compound, including a high-speed maneuvers track, outdoor range, and fire house. The building hosts several classes, such as certification courses for academy instructors and lessons on radar operation.
The class will be held from February 20th to February 23rd. Those interested in the collision investigation course can pay $206 to join. Members of the SBCSD can have their fees waived. All students must currently be working at a law enforcement agency and are required to dress in casual business attire. Lessons like this may be promoted to local officers by using poster printing services.
