Famed musical hits stage in San Bernardino

The California Theatre of the Performing Arts is hosting a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat this March.

Marking the first in a series of collaborations by musician Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice, “Joseph” has had major performance runs in more than 80 countries around the globe, from London’s West End to Broadway in New York City.

Staples from the musical, which ranges in genre from pop to rock and calypso, include Go, Go, Go Joseph, Close Every Door, and Any Dream Will Do.

The musical had humble beginnings as a 15-minute pop cantata performed at the Colet Court school in 1968 — long before Webber and Rice were the household names they are today. The story and music were further fleshed out, leading to another performance at Westminster Central Hall and a studio recording. From there, over the years, it became a globally recognized full-length musical.

Musicals like this may choose to use brochure printing to create audience programs, setlists, and music sheets.
