Historic highway celebrated in San Bernardino

San Bernardino’s San Manuel Stadium will be a pit stop for the 2026 Hemmings Great Race this June.

This massive road trip that lasts for nine days on Route 66 from Springfield, Illinois to Pasadena, California, features many stops in locations in between. In San Bernardino, more than 140 classic cars and trucks associated with the event make a stop for the public to view.

Established in 1983, the Great Race was created by Tom McRae and Norman Miller. Together, they teamed up with a seasoned race promoter to hatch a race with vintage, pre-WWII cars across America.

Fast-forward to 2026 and the Hemmings Great Race has partnered with the U.S. Route 66 Centennial Commission to be recognized as an official centennial event. This means the Great Race will be an official event for celebrating Route 66’s 100-year anniversary.

With a focus on celebrating the American spirit, the Great Race will make stops in communities with small-town charm, historic stadiums, oddball attractions, and classic roadside diners.

Road trip events of this nature this may choose to use poster printing services to create parking Signs, promotions, and vendor information.

The 2026 Hemmings Great Race Evening Stop presented by Coker Tires is happening on June 27 at 5:15 pm at the San Manuel Stadium at 280 South E Street in San Bernardino.
