San Bernardino institute to offer acting lesson

The San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) Institute of Media Arts will give a class on camera acting in March.

Media Professional Development - Acting for the Camera is a program where students can learn about the differences between performing on stage and acting on the screen. During the workshop, participants will undertake some scene work on a video, then add this to their portfolios. Attendees will also learn about what to expect when acting for the camera. Those who are members of the Institute of Media Arts may take part in the workshop for free.

The Institute of Media Arts is a school affiliated with the SBVC Film, TV, Media program. Students who attend the school are prepared for jobs such as streaming, broadcast television, and radio production. The institute participates in events and hosts panels on topics like Discussing Identity in Classic Hollywood and The Studio System of the Past Versus Now. The school also organizes the SBVC International Student Film Festival.

The media professional development workshop will be on Saturday, March 11 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. General admission for the lesson is $15. People interested in becoming a member of the Institute of Media Arts may pay $150 per year. Memberships include benefits like free film festival admission and swag.
