The Ho Ho Parade is returning this year to San Bernardino.
Classic cars and a large array of unusual vehicles, such as vintage fire engines will be decked out in Christmas decorations and lights. Christmas music blaring from the vehicles will set the tone. As in the last few years, the parade will be presented at three venues on three dates.
Santa Claus will not arrive in his usual sleigh, but will appear in an undisclosed vehicle. In the first parade in 2013, he rode in a dune buggy, and last year he showed up in a red convertible.
Originally, the parade was put on by the fire and police departments, but in 2013 it was taken over by a volunteer organization. The parade is now possible through the dedication of the parade staff, donors, car owners and drivers, and Santa and his elves. Supporters may want to get some flyer printing done to get the word out.
The first parade will be Tuesday, December 15. It will start at Little League HQ and end at Wildwood Park. The second one on December 16 will start at 6:00 pm at Blair Park and go to Lytle Creek Park. The last one will start at City Hall and end at the Parris Hill Senior Center on December 17. Santa will be on hand 30 minutes before and after each parade to meet children and hand out candy canes.
