San Bernardino group to present holiday concertgoers
The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra has announced plans for its annual holiday concert, named A Christmas Festival.
The Orchestra will perform a variety of holiday classics like “Carol of the Bells”, “Silent Night, Holy Night” and “My Favorite Things”, as well as orchestral versions of modern hits like “A Whole New World”, Leonard Cohen’s “Halleleulah” and “What’s Goin’ On.” The Symphony will be conducted by music director Anthony Parnther. There will be a variety of vocal soloists throughout the evening, bringing these familiar songs to new life in accompaniment with the orchestra. The show will be followed the next day by the debut of the Youth Symphony Orchestra at the San Bernardino Valley College Auditorium.
Past editions of the holiday concert have showcased other musical groups such as the Pro Musica Choir and the Inland Valley Repertory Theatre carollers. The audience will also be lending their voices to the performance during a final singalong piece. Audience members are encouraged to dress for the holiday theme, whether that means black-tie outfits or ugly sweaters. Classical music events like this often use program and brochure printing to provide guidance to the music as well as backstory on the musicians themselves.
The San Bernardino Orchestra’s A Christmas Festival performance will take place on December 14th at the Historic California Theatre of the Performing Arts.
