The San Bernardino County Museum will be holding a cosmic viewing party this August with the assistance of two local astronomy groups.
The San Bernardino Valley Amateur Astronomers (SBVAA) have partnered with the High Desert Astronomical Society to provide the community with a fun space viewing activity. The event will be held outdoors and will have telescopes available for guests to use. The San Bernardino County Museum will also have galleries open during the event. Those who participate in the viewing party should wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
The SBVAA was created in the 1950s to organize local astronomers, increase knowledge and raise the excitement that surrounds the topic of astronomy. Members can attend club meetings, listen to presentations, and participate in distant and local star parties. The group is open to beginners and wants to make astronomy fun by helping people understand the basics. Organizations such as the SBVAA can use poster printing to invite potential members to upcoming club events.
The cosmic viewing party will be held on Saturday, August 29th from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Tickets to the activity will cost adults $10, seniors $8, and children $5. Students and active military members will receive a discount on their admission. Kids who are younger than five can partake in the activity for free.
