Development sees San Bernardino receive $20m

San Bernardino was recently awarded $20m from the Strategic Growth Council for revitalizing Arrowhead Grove, which is known as the Waterman Gardens Public Housing site.

The money came from an organization called the California Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program.

The mayor of San Bernardino, R. Carey Davis, says that this is part of a continued effort to revitalize the San Bernardino Waterman Corridor. Davis added that it shows how well community collaboration can work.

The money will be used to build 147 housing units that are affordable, and 36 units at market rate. The funding will be used to improve transportation. Arrowhead Grove will have 400 housing units when the project is completed. The community will have a pool and club house, walking paths, community garden, and computer lab.

One of the largest developers for affordable housing, called the National Community Renaissance, will be will working on the project. They have teamed up with the Housing Authority of the Country of San Bernardino as they look to give the Arrowhead Grove neighborhood a new look.

Two phases of development for the project have been completed. Valencia Vista opened 76 units in 2016 and Olive Meadows 62 units in 2017 in San Bernardino.

San Bernardino has printing services that can help government agencies, businesses, restaurants, associations, schools, and retail shops with brochure printing for marketing and advertising.
