The La Palma police want to meet the residents they serve in a good way, and are planning a ‘Coffee with a Cop’ event soon.
The police are inviting everyone to stop by and talk to them, as they work to build and maintain a strong, pleasant relationship with the members of the community. The aim of the event is to bring residents and officers together so they can chat one-on-one, voice concerns, ask questions, and get to know each other, all in a pleasant environment, and over a cup of coffee.
La Palma's event is taking place on the same date as the National Coffee with a Cop Day, which, like the local meetup, is designed to encourage open communication and positive relations between the public and law enforcement personnel. Planners of events like this can use banner printing to create fun decorations to enhance the day.
Terry Kim, La Palma's police chief, said he and his department believe building trust between the community and the police is very important, and he thinks ‘Coffee with a Cop’ is precisely the type of meeting needed to bring the two groups together in a positive manner.
La Palma's ‘Coffee with a Cop’ is set for October 3, from 7:00 am until 9:00 am, at the Coffee Bean and Teal Leaf, which is on La Palma Avenue.
